The Omaha Housing Authority (OHA) provides a range of housing options for low-income families, people with disabilities, and seniors on fixed incomes. These include public housing with income-based rent, and affordable housing with low-cost rent. These properties are owned by Housing in Omaha (HIO), a subsidiary of the OHA, and most participate in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC). Section 8 coupons are welcome, but not required. For those who need to travel, Eppley Airfield is located on the west side of the Missouri River.
It is a medium-sized hub that manages around 80 flights a day, and is home to most of the major airlines. It has three separate terminals. Omaha currently has 156 low-income apartments available for rent. These are financed with federal funds through housing programs that include vouchers and public housing.
